Nonlinear Weak-Story Evaluation The nonlinear assessment of weak-story behavior aims to identify stories with insufficient lateral load resistance. In this approach, nonlinear analyses such as pushover or nonlinear time history analysis are employed to investigate the post-yield response of the structure. Concentration of lateral force demand and ductility in a single story may lead to premature failure in that level. Detecting these deficiencies enables the development of effective retrofit strategies to enhance the seismic safety of the structure.
